Access our Data

We can:

  • Provide information on plants, animals and habitats across Birmingham and the Black Country
    Provide information on statutory and non-statutory wildlife sites as well as other areas within Birmingham and the Black Country

  • Provide information on the current status and distribution of species and habitats

  • Analyse and interpret the information to meet users requirements

  • Support and assist recorders and other people who collect wildlife information with their recording efforts

Outputs we can produce include:

Species Lists: these can be provided for a specified site or area of search and are usually provided in spreadsheet format.

These include lists of:

  • Protected or Notable Species (NERC/Section 41, WC act, European protected species, Local Biodiversity Action Plan, Red & Amber list birds)

  • Axiophyte Plant Species

  • Invasive Plant Species (Wildlife and Countryside Act Schedule 9)

  • All species records we hold for a particular site

Designated Sites Map: Map showing the occurrence of statutory and non-statutory wildlife sites within a specified area.

Bespoke Analysis Maps: such as species coincidence mapping, heat maps etc.

Habitat Maps: Phase I habitat maps for a given site (if information is available)

EcoRecord offers a ‘one-stop shop’ data search service for those seeking comprehensive ecological information on species, sites and habitats within Birmingham and the Black Country.

Our standard format is a desktop environmental data report delivered as a pdf document. The data search service is delivered in partnership with eCountability.

eCountability is a specialist consulting and digital application company providing advice, data and solutions for those seeking to manage biodiversity-related risks and opportunities. They enable access to the best available information and the expertise and support needed to interpret and apply it.

eCountability is partnering with EcoRecord to offer a new service in Birmingham and the Black Country to assist clients with managing biodiversity impacts and developing mitigation strategies.

eCountability’s tools and services provide the following key features:

  • Identification of site-specific biodiversity-related information to support the planning, development and site maintenance processes;

  • Visualisation and presentation of information in easily accessible reports;

  • Rapid delivery of reports based on templates.

Charges

Data held by EcoRecord is available to everyone, however a handling charge will usually apply for commercial requests.

Income generated is used to improve data computerisation and data management and support the work of local voluntary naturalists.

Commercial Data Searches

Our standard format is a desktop environmental data report delivered as a pdf document. The data search service is delivered in partnership with eCountability.

These reports are generated automatically and are based on a well-established Data Search report template. Prices are as follows:

Standard 1km Data Search: £145 + VAT

Standard 2km Data Search: £185 + VAT
